PUBLICATIONS
BGS QUARTERLY 

The BGS QUARTERLY is published electronically four times a year: February, May, August, and November. A printed copy is made from all four quarterlies and issued as an annual in November. A quarterly publication has been issued by the Boulder Genealogical Society since 1968.A subscription to the electronic Quarterly is included with each membership. Printed Quarterlies are available for an additional $15 with membership, or are available to non-members online at www.lulu.com for $25 per annual. Special rates are available for quantity orders.

EDITORIAL POLICY

Members and friends are invited to submit original manuscripts on genealogical topics with an emphasis on Boulder County records and research. A .pdf file of general article ideas and ideas for 1880s topics are available.

All submissions should be electronic and submitted by e-mail to the BGS Quarterly Editor. The author should include a complete name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. All materials will be carefully considered for publication. Any significant changes or suggestions will be referred back to the author before publication.

Please do not submit your article as a PDF. Submit your article in Word, WordPerfect OpenOffice, or the Macintosh equivalent. You are welcome to layout the article as you would have it printed with the illustrations in place. Photos, maps, charts, and diagrams in crisp, clear format at 300 dpi at the size to be printed, are definitely encouraged. We may ask you to send the original images separately if they are downsampled by your word processing software.

The author is responsible for obtaining any permissions necessary to use material or graphics prior to sending BGS the submission.

Review of new material can take as long as 90 days depending upon the time of year a submission is made.

Neither the Boulder Genealogical Society nor the Quarterly staff is responsible for any errors of fact, or for opinions expressed or implied by the contributors. Substantiated corrections will be included in future publications.

COPYRIGHT

The Boulder Genealogical Society retains the copyright to the compilation of the BGS Quarterly. Submitters retain copyright to their individual submissions. Request for permission to use or duplicate any material contained within the Quarterly should be addressed in writing to the author of the article. We do not require exclusive serial rights. We fully expect authors to submit their articles to other publications simultaneously with ours.

ANCESTOR CHARTS

BGS members, and those with a Colorado ancestral connection may submit 5-generation charts for publication. The chart should start with the submitter as No. 1.

Send to: BGS Ancestor Charts Editor at the BGS mailbox address or electronically (PDFs are fine for Ancestor Charts), to the BGS Quarterly editor.
