BGS Class: Courthouses & City Halls–OR–What You Will Miss if You Never Leave Your Computer @ Meadows Branch Library
Apr 25 @ 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

The local county courthouse or city hall were places where most of your ancestors visited at least a few times in their lives. They recorded deeds, marriages, and deaths. Their property was assessed and they paid taxes. Some petitioned for new roads or new services. These centers of local government hold countless records useful to genealogists and some of them are rarely used which is a loss for the historical narrative of your family. There is great value in getting out into the community where your ancestors once lived. An experience you’ll miss if you do all of your research from your desk.

Instructor will be Dina Carson.
